Iran and Turkmenistan Hold International Transport Cooperation Meeting

نشست As part of the 18th meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Iran and Turkmenistan, held on May 18–20 in Tehran, Kakajan Bagmırov, Head of the International Relations Department of the Transport and Communication Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan ("Turkmenawtoulaglary"), met with Javad Hedayati, Director General of the Transit and International Transport Department of Iran's Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.

The meeting aimed to enhance international transport relations, boost trade measures, and explore solutions to existing barriers and challenges.

During the discussions, both parties emphasized the importance of economic and transport cooperation. They reviewed new opportunities in transit collaboration, strategies to facilitate trade, and coordination on transport-related matters within the framework of the joint commission. Key topics addressed included multimodal transportation, visa facilitation, and cross-border transit costs.

The negotiations held during the session were part of the official agenda of the joint commission. The outcomes are expected to significantly strengthen transportation cooperation and advance economic relations between the two countries.
